RE: Altar Server Schedule – January 1, 2008 – March 31, 2008

Thank you for being an Altar Server, and for faithfully and reverently serving St. Denis Church at the altar. I especially thank you for assisting one another at Mass. It is wonderful to see you working together as a team.

Attached please find the new schedule for the period January 1, 2008 to March 31, 2008. Also we will be asking for all altar servers to sign up for serving the daily 5:30 pm Mass. I am fully aware of the commitment this is, but please understand that this much needed help is sincerely appreciated by all the priests at St. Denis.

Also enclosed with this letter is an invitation to attend the Altar Server Mass at the Cathedral on Sunday, February 17^th at  2:30 p.m. At this special celebration, His Eminence Cardinal Justin Rigali will honor all servers for their dedicated service at the altar. Please complete the enclosed form and return to the rectory as soon as possible. We will have reserve seating for all altar servers and two chaperones. Seating for parents and families will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Finally, I would like to invite ALL altar servers to an Altar Server Training Session.  We will have two dates available, and I ask you to make every effort to attend one of the training sessions.  They will be held on Tuesday, January 8th and Wednesday, January 9th from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  Parents are invited to attend for the last ten minutes for a question and answer session.  Mrs. Mc Chesney and Mr. Kokol have graciously volunteered their services to help with the altar serving ministry.  I am extremely grateful for their help.
