Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based program that prepares the classroom as a sacred place for children to explore and learn about the Mass and the Gospels in a hands-on way.
Who should participate?
Children ages three to six
Parish School
Saint Denis School is committed to transmitting Jesus’ message of love and service. Classroom instruction, sacramental preparation, and communal worship contribute to an understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith. Office volunteers are always needed in the school.
Who should participate?
Anyone who wishes to volunteer in the school and is willing to obtain the required paperwork in order to work with children.
RES – Religious Education
A program that instructs children attending public schools on the teachings of the Catholic faith.
What does it involve?
Volunteer catechists instruct students on the teachings of the Catholic faith with age-appropriate materials.
Class dates and times
Mondays – 4:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Mondays – 6:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Who should participate?
Adults who are interested in educating and sharing their faith serve as Catechists and Aides. Children who attend public schools or are home schooled attend class.
Vacation Bible School
A fun and exciting way for young students to learn the many lessons that can be found in the Bible.
What does it involve?
Adults assist with storytelling, crafts, games, visual aides and snacks for camp which is held in June.
Who should participate?
Helpers: Adults and teens entering 7th grade or above who are creative and can help plan and carry out various activities.
