Adult Faith Formation Committee

Adult Faith Formation is any experience by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ.  These experiences include, but are not limited to, opportunities for study and discussion, prayer and reflection, fellowship and mutual support.

What does it involve?

Meeting with other parishioners to brainstorm and form ideas about what programs could be offered to the parish.

Who should participate?

Any parishioner who is interested in spreading the Word of God.

 

Bible Study – Men

Men’s Group reflects on the upcoming Sunday scriptures and discusses how God’s word impacts daily life.

What does it involve?

Men meet on certain Wednesday evenings in the Cemetery Office.

Who should participate?

Male parishioners willing to share God’s Word with others.  No experience necessary.

 

Eucahristic  Adoration

Personal prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament is a special gift.

What does it involve?

Eucharistic Adoration is offered in the Church every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:15 p.m.

Who should participate?

Everyone is welcome to visit.

 

Intercessory Rosary

The Intercessory Rosary provides an opportunity to pray the rosary with others for the needs of our families, neighborhoods, and the world.

Who should participate?

The Rosary is prayed daily after the 8:30 a.m. Mass – all are welcome.

 

Pilgrim Queen Rosary Program

Pilgrim Queen of the Family is a network of Catholic families united by the desire to live and share the Gospel, and to promote the devotion to our Lady of Guadalupe through family praying of the Holy Rosary for the intentions of the Church, the Pope and vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life.

Who should participate?

Any family who is willing to promote the rosary within their own family.

Praise Prayer Group

Gathers to pray for a deeper experience of the power of the Holy Spirit and a personal relationship with God.  We pray for each other and for all in need of prayers and healing.

What does it involve?

The prayer groups meets every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge.

Who should participate?

Anyone who wishes to have a deeper relationship with God through prayer.

 

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

Provides Catholic Faith Formation to inquiring adults and prepares those interested in celebrating the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist.

What does it involve?

Team members lead discussions, educate and share faith with participants.  Sessions are held on Monday evenings.

Who should participate?

Any parishioner comfortable with discussing and sharing their Catholic faith.

 

Pre-Jordan (Baptism Preparation)

Team leaders present baptismal preparation program for parents planning to have a child baptized.

What does it involve?

Team members explain the importance and significance of the Sacrament, share their memories about the baptism of their children, and a description of the ceremony.  The presentations are given on the second Monday of the month at the team members’ homes.  Training is provided.

Who should participate?

Any married parishioners who have experienced the joy of having children baptized in the Catholic faith.

 

Pre-Cana (Marriage Preparation)

Team leaders present a marriage preparation program that provides a time of discernment for the vocation of marriage and family life for engaged couples.

What does it involve?

Teams of married couples share certain aspects of their own experiences during their marriage on various topics.  Team prepares and presents talks, makes arrangements for room set up and refreshments.  Pre-Cana sessions are held in January and April each year on a Saturday and Sunday.  Training is provided.

Who should participate?

Married couples who are willing to share their experiences with the engaged couples as well as those who have the understanding of couples entering into matrimony.
