St. Denis Parish Mission Statement
“We, the faith community of St. Denis believe that our Baptism calls us to life in community with God’s people and to growth in holiness by becoming more like Jesus. We welcome and invite all people to build and experience this community, which mirrors God’s love for us.”

Dear Parishioners,
My four and a half hour meeting (which actually
went for almost five hours) gave me fewer specifics than
I had hoped. However, if you have looked on the website
you have seen that we were given the basic setup of the
regional school. It is clear from the elements that are to
be incorporated into the school that the archdiocese
intends all of the regional schools to be Blue Ribbons
Schools. Many of the extras that are already in our
school were added for just that purpose, e.g., the art
room and the science lab. In fact, the only thing that is
reguired by the guidelines which we do not have is a
resource room and that is not a problem.
We were also directed to form an Implementation
Committee which we have done. The committee consists
of both pastors, both principals and lay people from both
parishes. Besides Sister Gerlad and me, the other
members from St. Denis are Rita Block, Tom Howard,
Walt Kokol and Sally McGovern. The first meeting will
be this Monday evening (Jan. 16). This meeting will
involve basic orientation for the committee and a walk-
through of the school. One of the first things we will need
to do is to hire a principal. There are more meetings
scheduled for the pastors and current princippals and I
am sure that each meeting will bring more tasks to be
accomplished.
As the process goes on I will keep you informed. I
have scheduled a meeting with the parents at 2:00pm
today in the Church.
Thank you for your continued support.
Msgr. Graham
